Sharon MacDermid

Piano Teacher
In College I majored in Piano/Music Education (Seattle Pacific University) with graduate studies in Piano Pedagogy, Columbia University – Robert Pace Approach and Improvisation/Composing/Arranging Pedagogy with Forrest Kenny, author of Pattern/Chord Play. I have over 25 years teaching and performing experience.

Students LOVE the curriculum as it is updated and FUN to play.(See pianopronto.com to look/listen). You may choose the type of lessons you want to pursue. Some options are: *Intro to Basic Beginning Piano* – *Just for Fun* – *Classical* – *Praise and Worship* -*New Modern Contemporary* or a combination of any. *Composing* – *Improvising*- and *Arranging* songs you know and love are also available choices.

You will receive a strong musical foundation and also discover and play your own unique music at your very first lesson.

Lessons have a warm, friendly setting and are customized for each student to accommodate their Age, Goals and Learning Styles. Experiencing patient attention and encouragement to reach your personal goals will help you succeed quickly and that is exciting.

It is never too early or too late to begin this great adventure.I look forward to working together with you to reach your musical goals and dreams!

We have thoroughly enjoyed piano lessons with Sharon MacDermid.  She has been so patient and really crafted the lessons to meet my daughters learning style and goals in piano.  It is obvious that Sharon takes time to prepare and make each lesson count.  I also love that she has incentives for students to practice and gives her students attainable goals each year.  My daughter Kennadi has loved taking lessons!  We are looking forward to another year. Our family has been going to 8th Note for 2 years, we have been very pleased with the musicians and variety of instruments available. We always recommend 8th Note Studio when ever we talk to people about our children’s music instruction.
Jackson and Faith take piano from Sharon MacDermid; the instruction provided keeps the children challenged and motivated.

8th Note Studio is a great place to learn music.  The atmosphere is filled with different type of music from different instruments.  I’m a 50 year old learning piano and my experience has been great.  I’ve learned so much in 4 months thanks to my teacher (Sharon MacDermid).  Come on and join us, you too can learn music if you just try!
